My partner and I have our iPhones, his iPad, and iCal on three Macs all syncing one Google calendar with three delegates.  It works amazingly well.  When one of us changes an entry on any device, it appears on the others in a few seconds.

We have two minor problems with this setup:

1)     iCal on one of the Macs -- a MacBook Pro running 10.6.8 -- gets an error alert box every once in a while.  The Alert says:

"The server responded with an error."

"The calendar https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/gxxxxxxxn@gmail.com/user

was not found on the server. Make sure the URL is correct."

Clicking OK on the alert clears it, and it does not recur for sometimes hours, so it's no biggie, but I wish I knew how to suppress the alert box.

2)     Some calendar entries in iCal on that same Mac get duplicated sometimes.

Command-R on the affected delegate (usually  once but sometimes

it takes a few repeats) clears the duplicated entries.

Any advice addressing these two problems would be appreciated.

I'm having the same issue with iCal (4.0.4) and Google calendars for a few days now. This must be some change in the Google API. There was no recent update in Apple software that could be responsible for the funny behavior.

Like you experience, the annoying thing is that the extra secondary calendars come and go. I helped myself for now by just unchecking the duplicate ones.

So far I did not find any solution on the web about this new problem.

I've also been getting the "The server responded with an error. ..." iCal popup for months now, and over the past several weeks it's at least once an hour.

I've found no solution yet. Frustrating, though at least the bouncy iCal icon is entertaining.

I forgot to mention the bigger problem: once in a while Calendar events disappear.  I don't know if these two errors are related. This was happening more often a month ago, even though I hadn't changed how I use the calendar at all. Made for some weak sounding excuses on my part for missed events. "Uh, the Google ate my calendar."

What has happend for me is this:  Two of us share the calendar. Until last week (when I finally got an iPhone), we only ever added and checked calender events on our two desktop computers, using iCal.  And yet, after adding or editing an event, it has at times disappeared from iCal -- sometimes within minutes, sometimes within a day or so. Even if the other person hasn't been on a computer. Something has been intermittently going wrong with the updating/syncing. That it was suddenly happening much more often for a while, despite our behavior not changing at all, suggests the error is happening elsewhere. Curious.
