I know Apple specifically mentions fixes they made to AFP and Samba both, so likely it is a change in networking code that is causing it. However, if you're opening and editing a file across the net, aren't you going against Adobe's best usage practices anyway? Just create a Work folder on your desktop, copy it over, work on it from there and then copy it back would be my advice. (Assuming Finder copies are working!)

    Welcome to Apple Discussions Shalta!

Please start a new topic thread if the solutions presented here do not apply to you. The link here will get you to a place where you can post your own topic:

    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2063164#2063164

First off, by doing so, you'll get a wider audience that can help you. Secondly the person who started the thread won't be given an answer in their thread which doesn't apply to them, and thirdly, you won't get an answer that doesn't apply to you. Be sure to state, which version of the Adobe apps in question don't work, how did you get 10.4.6 and those Adobe apps installed, and if you've checked Adobe's website for updates. Sometimes also knowing how Quicktime was installed on your system may help us. How much free space and RAM you have will also be helpful.

    To All,

For me PS CS2 and Adobe Reader have opened just fine, and photo files have been saved locally, and to a networked external disk.

Are there other operations to the server that have been impacted?

    Running, 10.4.6, btw.

I am having the same issue as everyone else, I can drag the files from my server to my machine and work and save them fine but cannot save to the server or save from the server to my machine.

    Hi,

I just tested saving to my iDisk, and was successful, but not before being asked to allow the keychain to be updated. The first photo saved took a very long time, during which I had the beachball for a time, and PS was said to not be responding in when control-clicking over it in the Dock, but then PS finished, and subsequent images were saved more quickly, and without the beach ball.

I am not sure this approximates your server configuration, but thought I would report.

I am over my head here, with servers, but can you eject, dismount, or whatever from this server, and then reconnect? The behavior I am able to view, in very limited configurations, causes me to think the protocol of connecting to the server must be re-established, before accessing with the Save and other commands.
