    KH.TAN,

I am also using d-link router DIR-655 model.  If I am in the room where my router is, it stays connected fine.  But once I start walking towards the other end of the house, the wireless starts dropping and eventually switch over to LTE or cellular data.  None of my other iOS devices have this problem.

It seems to me that iPhone 5 may need a dual band router to work well or something.  But this is just plain stupid if this is the case.

I am going to give Netgear N900 a try since my wife start warming up to her new phone.

Finally got a work around for this issue. I had similar issue. I was able to connect to my wifi router at home, but I was not able connect internet not more than 2 min. Every 2 min, i had to disable and enable wifi, would allow 2 min connectivity. I had no issue at work.

After reading an article in Gizmodo, I switched my wifi router from WPA2 to WEP. Though it is less secure, I am fine with that. Now I am able to connect to internet without any issue.

    Check if this helps.

I also got mine to work in one of two ways.  If I switched to wpa instead of wpa2 it worked.  The best solution for me was to disable WMM.  So in advanced wireless settings I unchecked "enable WMM" and that fixed my wireless problems.  Clearly a problem in Apple's implementation of this standard since it was working before os upgrades.

My access point, a Ruckus 3763, is set to WPA with PSK authentication and TKIP for the WPA Algorithm.

WPA2 can be extremely flakey with devices, both Apple and non-Apple.  All the devices in my house work fine with the WPA PSK TKIP combination set in the WiFi Access Point.

I'd stay away from WEP if WPA works.  If WPA2 and WPA don't work in your environment you WEP is better than nothing.

I was on the phone with NETGEAR (Comcast) as I read this and did it right away. So far, it's worked GREAT ! They also wanted to charge us for the service.

    THANK YOU!

Interesting as Apples own recommendations are to make sure WMM is enabled. Infact they say if its not you may not be able to connect period.

changing the DNS-Server solved it for me

before my router was set up to use the OpenDNS server, setting it back to the ISP (Internet Service Provider) solved it for me

you should give it a try

If your are the admin of the network set up the DNS Server (of your router) to default or another than the default (depends on your settings)

or go directly to the WLAN Settings of your device fill in an DNS server

    [reconnect]

use a search engine and find the one of your Provider or a DNS-Server in general

Would be nice to hear if it worked for anyone else, too

My white iPhone 5 can connect without any problems to any network I use but one, on that one it just spins around the wheel in WIFI but never connects, my iPhone 4 there connects without any problem, I was going to update it to 6.0.2 to see if it would fix it, but after reading some posts here I think ill stay at 6.0.1... Anyway, it ***** not being able to use my iPhone at all places like I do to with my iPhone 4...

PS: Tried everything there is to try, except router settings because it's not my router, reset network settings, proxy to auto, delete and add network again, everything just didnt work...

    People,

In the season of giving Apple has taken from all of us.  I can't wait to see what goes on here after all those new Apple products are unwrapped X-Mas morning.

Get the media's attention!!  The only thing Apple is worried about is their stock price!!

I have thought about that too. All the "real" iPads and minis' and new iDevices with WIFI only and they cannot connect to internet. Wow.  And iOS.6.0.2  has had marginal results solving this for iPhone 5 and mini owners. Nothing for iPad users. Granted there are a LOT of devices out there with no issues. Maybe they put a timer in the software to start working on 12/25/2012. Should be interesting to say the least.  Mine and wifes 4s's seem to work fine so I am happy there. Sorta glad I am not expecting any new iDevices within my family. I would be one unhappy dude on Christmas day and my shiny new expensive iDevice wouldnt work and the answer is to wait til January or Feb and it might work then. Otherwise use it as a nice digital picture frame and maybe alarm clock for a few months.

I actually suspect there are a LOT more devices out there with issues that are for all intents and purposes are going unnoticed. For some of us, we can connect just fine to Wi-Fi but it's our speed that's abysmal. Think of how many people don't think to do any kind of speed test or when it takes 10 minutes to download a song, they think nothing of it because it "just works."

Again I'd say that I don't think is only a hardware issue or only a software issue or only a router issue because the results have been inconsistent. Here, we have 5 iOS devices - iPhone 5, 4S, iPod Touch 4th Gen, iPad (1st Gen), & iPad (3rd Gen) - both of the iPads are fine; the 2 phones and iPod are all exhibiting the same issues and we're using the latest version of the Apple Airport Extreme. I'm basically at the point of resignation now. I'm waiting until 6.1 and if that doesn't fix it, I'll go from there.
