Learn about iTunes: Unable to sync photos

Q: Unable to sync iPhoto library to my iTouch. It says 0 photos.

I am giving my son my iTouch (4th generation, 64 GB) for Christmas since I now have an iPhone. He has a computer in his room that I am the administrator, adn he has a user account so that I can manage his use using "Parental Controls". The computer is running OS 10.6.8, and iTunes has just been updated to the most current version. The software for the iTouch has also been updated to the most current version.

I have spent two days on this now. Everything works perfectly except that it will not sync the photos from his iPhoto library. He has 2,400 photos, and when I click on his iTouch connected to iTunes, and clik on the 'sync photos', it says there are zero [0] photos.

I am out of ideas. I have run the repair for disk permissions, checked to make sure no repairs were needed, turned off parental controls, restarted the computer a number of times, and I can't get it to recognize the photos from the iPhoto library to the iTouch. I was going to put the iTouch in his Christmas stocking all ready to go. Can anyone help me with what I need to do? Is this a problem with the new version of iTunes?

His computer is an iMac, 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, 160 GB HD (only 48 GB used), running OS 10.6.8.

The reason he has a user account on his computer is that he is developmentally disabled and needs the protections in place.
