Q: tried the steps to change the name on the device

I tried the step to change the name on my device by going to settings, general, about, and then tap on the name and it will not highlight.

iPod touch, Other OS, ios 1.1.5

    That only works for iOS 5 and later. You have to connect the iPod to your computer and click on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and change the name like I said in my reply to your other post and by that method in the link you cited.
