9% in 8hrs? That seems normal if you're getting emails, pushed, apps notification etc etc
I have updated to 6.0.2, but have yet to notice any serious battery drain like people say. Hope they fix this issue asap. Def. not cool at all.

Yeah, same thing here. Battery draining like crazy. Doesn't matter if wifi is on or off, same deal. So I don't buy the aggressive wifi explanation. Also, my phone has been rattling and making the "loose" noise since day three. Now, there might be a connection.
Dude, we just got hold of a phone from a flawed and bad shipment. Nothing to do about it, since they will never admit to that in the store. We have to live with being under appreciated. So much for brand loyalty.

I have no words for this update! 2 hours sending only 2 sms and battery go down of 40%!! Before this update everything was working good, and I used my phone for the whole day. Now i have to charge 3 times in a day!! that is unacceptable from you! that's a shame for Apple. I will ask for a new phone if un update to resolve this problem will be realese in next weeks!!

Have any of you tried the fix that worked for me? It would be nice to confirm or deny it. Thanks

I have the same problem with ios 6.0.2.
I have charged my iphone 5 before go to bed,and this morning 92 % without touch it in the night.
With my old ios in the same condition, the morning i has something like 98 or 99 %.
And yesterday in the day i has just 5 hours of battery,i have used for games, mail, safari
There is a solution for back in 6.0.1?
If yes please give me a link with the manipulation...
Because i need to charge it 2 twice in a day...

The least I expect is for apple to sort this out before Christmas. I've been experiencing the same problem. I left my phone on the lowest brightness at72% thinkin it would easily last thru the night because it has done so before on many occasion but I wake up like an hour late because my phone died n I use it as an alarm. The phone has also been heating up a bit although I do think the wifi has improved... the same case is happening to my ipad mini in terms of poor battery life. I'm just really annoyed because I am a big apple fan but I am also a very poor apple fan and my family decided to scrounge all their savings together so tht they could get me an iphone 5 and an ipad mini this year as I havnt really had any birthday or Christmas presents for a while. So I feel very disappointed that my family went to all this effort n to spend so much on products that do not function properly and I am amazed that I and many others still have brand loyalty towards apple... The least they could do is some how show their appreciation.

I have restaured my iphone with itunes and the same problem...
Somebody have tried to restore the iphone with DFU mode?
It is better?
Currently Being ModeratedDec 23, 2012 4:14 AM (in response to Paul france)
YEs I've tried DFU mode, still the same phone becomes hot even using for light web and battery issue. I am doubt Apple really give us correct capacity of the battery, 1424 mAh right?
Currently Being ModeratedDec 23, 2012 4:19 AM (in response to atdguy)
This is 1440mAh
Check this link :

How did you downgrade back to 6.0.1? I'm at 6.0.1 atm but I am probably going to replace my phone at the end of the week because of battery issues and I'm really scared of 6.0.2. If I get a replacement phone, what are the chances it will already arrive with 6.0.2? Or do all iPhone 5s arrive with 6.0 and then you have to manually update?
Currently Being ModeratedDec 23, 2012 5:32 AM (in response to Zach_n)
If you get your Iphone 5 to be replaced i think you will get the previous IOS 6.0.1 because the new 6.0.2 was just released few days ago, so you'll be given from the previous Iphones stocks having in the Apple store.

NO MORE DRAINING FOR ME!
Try turning off the phone and leave it for like 1 hour. After that, turn on the phone and see if the battery is still draining?
I did that and no more draining over night. Right now, I have about 20 hours of standby, 2 hours of usage with wifi, facebook, web surfing, app downloading... etc and battery is at 74% from a full charge.
