I've read two other discussions regarding this issue.  I'm starting my own to more easily document the issues specifically related to me.

Recently I've begun experiencing daily crashes when working with Photoshop CS6 and Aperture 3.3.2 (13.0.1 x64).  The crashes always occur when Aperture is running but, are independent of whether or not Photoshop CS6 is running.

One discussion regarding these crashes stated that some users have had success eleminating or limiting the crashing using gfxCardStatus (  Having installed and run the application for the past couple days, I can report that, for me, it did not solve or seemingly limit the occurance of the crashing.

There is a potentially related issue occurs upon rebooting after one of these crashes.  Upon reboot my screen goes black and does not recover without a hard reboot.  After that hard reboot everything operates as would be expected - until the next crash.

Though I primarily use this machine for photographic processing, I also run the occasional game (Diablo 3, Counterstrike, etc...) and daily browsing, email, etc..  However, the crashing only occurs when either using Aperture directly or exporting an image to Photoshop 6CS.

I guess I can start procesing the crash reports by eye at this point.  But here is stil hoping that someone else is seeing this and found a viable solution.

Have a good one folks.

You should also ask this in the MacBook Pro forum. This is the forum for the white and black plastic MacBooks that were discontinued in 2010. You should also post this question there to increase your chances of getting an answer.

I have a similar problem, my MBP Retina 15" 6 weeks old crashes and locks-up all the time with just about every application.  I now have gone back to using my old MS XP system, it is much more stable than Mountain Lion OS and Apple hardware.  I use Window-7 at work for last 6 months, not a single crash and/or lock-up.  I'm looking at returning/selling my MBP and getting a Window-8 system, Apple is now building crap hardware and software.  I recommend you consider the same solution.  Good Luck !
