We,re supposed to get , according to the specs under battery from http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html.

For those trying to figure out whether they're getting the advertised battery performance, here's the math.

    0.208 %/min = 4.8 min/% calls on 3G

    0.208 %/min = 4.8 min/% 3G internet

    0.167 %/min = 6.0 min/% wi-fi internet

    0.167 %/min = 6.0 min/% video

    0.042 %/min = 24.0 min/% audio

    0.007 %/min = 135.0 min/% standby

    So 8 hours at standby is supposed to be (8 hours) x (60 min/hr) x (0.007 %/min) = 3.36 %  I'm seeing 8-9% overnight losses. That's my problem.

I really believe that if everyone would check these numbers, they'd all realize they aren't up to expected.

BTW I should correct some erroneous posts I made to this thread.

1 . I thought it didn't happen on 6.0.1, but actually I didn't run it long enough to know.

    2. Cycling the battery through zero multiple times actually did NO better. But, when it was above 50%, the numbers seemed to be better and that's why I initially reported that it improved. But the decline rate got worse under 50%, and it still ran empty in 2 days.

    3. I did call Apple and was advised that my performance was better than his .. hence the post "It is what it is".

Add me to this list.  ios 6.0.2 came to me and has taken my battery life.  I can literraly watch percentage points drop using my iPhone 5. Phone gets warm as well.

Partial Fix:  Turn off WiFi  (this issue seems only to be related to WiFi)

I did this while traveling the other day, and it immediately improved the battery situation.  I also did this while on a 40 minute, 5 mile run, streaming music and tracking my run, and only used 7% of the battery.

I realize this isn't a total fix, but if you're not needing WiFi, it's a great way to get great battery life back.

Yes, is a great way to improve the battery but before the IOS 6.0.2 i didn't have to put the wifi off when i was not using it and the battery percentage was very good.

I haven't done the update to 6.02, yet, but I've noticed a very fast battery drain on my iPhone 5. When it does, the back of the phone becomes hot to the touch... uncomfortably hot. I went to bed with 70ish% and when woke up, it was down to 20something%.

I've been trying to pinpoint the problem and in my case, and although I'm still ruling out options, it seems it has to do something with Facebook. Letting the phone drain its battery and then do a full charge seems to fix the problem.

Mine started draining and the phone would become hot as soon as the update became available on my phone.  I only decided to update when I thought it might fix the problem.  Unfortunatly, it does not.

My phone is draining like crazy as well, when I updated to 6.0.1 I noticed my battery dying faster, however when I updated to 6.0.2 I took my phone of the charger and didn't touch it at all and noticed my battery only lasted 4 hours. Apple really needs to fix this issue because this is ridiculous. My iPhone 4 never had this issue.

If you think your battery is poor on 6.0.1 do not even THINK of going to 6.0.2.  My phone is now trashed.

It runs HOT on the back and drains like crazy even with WiFi off!  It's not even midday and it's down to 21%.. That's crazy!  It used to last all day and sometimes into a second day without recharge!!!

Can someone post instructions on how to downgrade to 6.0.1 please?!  I can't wait for Apple to sort this out as my phone is unusable...

    Many thanks -

Everyone with these problems should try a hard reboot - hold both buttons down until the apple appears.

Unfortunately I tried the hard reset with no results.

By the way - I've been experimenting and the high power drain persists even with the WiFI turned OFF so I don't think it's simply due to reduced WiFi polling intervals as some have suggested -- something else has been majorly  messed up...

Exactly!!!! That's what happens to me as well. It runs hot on the back and the battery begins to drain fast!
