Dec 25, 2012 11:16 AM in response to jrh219by Eric Root,Here are three links which cover computer compatibility and application compatability. The older PC based applications (like Office 2004) will not work in Mountain Lion because Rosetta has been removed:
Computer compatibility: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4132, http://support.apple.com/kb/SP654
App compatibility: http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
macjack types faster than I do.
Another option, which is what I did on our two computers, is to partition your hard drive, which allows you to retain Snow Leopard for older applications and games. You can then install Mountain Lion on the new partition. To partition, restart to your Snow Leopard DVD or the disks that came with your computer and use Disk Utility to create the new partition.
