Do you have a backup of your music?

Dec 25, 2012 11:50 AM in response to Csound1by HI808-2013,Hi Csound1,
as of right now I am travelling and have to access to a backup. Back home I have one more MBP with the "old" information but also no physical copy of the music. Just recently I was a bit tight on disc space and removed most files from the hard drive but not iTunes match. Now I made exactly the mistake I was hoping to avoid. Most of my songs were not initially purchased in the iTunes store. About 200 of the approx. 10000 were, those I was able to download again. Usually, I would just try to work with the TimeCapsule but that one is not really working since there is no backup of this computer.
What exactly do you mean by restore your backup?
Thank you for your support already!

You seem to place some value in the music, so I assume that you keep a backup of it, if that is so this is the time to restore it. If there is no backup the music is most likely gone.

Dec 25, 2012 11:59 AM in response to Csound1by HI808-2013,I think this time I made absolutly sure I have no backup in place. ;(
My initial hope was that there was a restore option on Apple's side that they could turn back the clock on my account an hour and undo the mistake I made. That seems unlikely after what I have read and you now also confirmed.
Thank you again for your support!

Dec 25, 2012 12:14 PM in response to Csound1by HI808-2013,I still have a MBP back at home, there the changes are not synced yet, however, the songs are also just downloaded in part. The larger part of the library is in the cloud as well on that machine. I am guessing it will be gone/not available as well once I fire up that machine again?

Dec 25, 2012 12:16 PM in response to HI808-2013by Csound1,★HelpfulStart the other machine, disconnect from the internet immediately. Copy the iTunes folder, reconnect the internet, let everything sync and then restore the music from the folder copy
