Q: MLB.tv not working after update to 5.1

Since updating to 5.1 yesterday, MLB.tv refuses to launch. I get "Accessing MLB.TV" with a spinning wheel for a while, then "MLB.TV is unavailable. Try again later." I can access it just fine on my Roku, so I know it isn't down. I've tried restarting, and that hasn't helped.  Anyone else seeing this?

Apple employees don't watch over these boards, they are user to user forums hosted by apple for technical troubleshooting of their products between users, if you're expecting a response from apple, you may be waiting for a very long time.

MLB.tv over Ethernet is working just fine for me after the latest update. Are you sure the update completed successfully?

    Hello all,

If you have updated to Apple TV version 5.1.1 (released on 11/29/12) and you are still experiecing the issue where some features work over WiFi but not Ethernet, please email me <royb@apple.com> with this information:

    1. What is the manufacturer, model number and firmware version (if possible) of your Ethernet router?

    2. Which features did not work in Apple TV 5.1 but do work in 5.1.1 (if any)?

    3. Which features still do not work over Ethernet?

    4. Do all of these features work over WiFi?

Please make the subject line of your email be "5.1.1 - Some features work over WiFi but not Ethernet".

    Thanks,

    Roy

RoyB.  I don't know who you are but just wanted to say thanks for trying! I'm one of those still hesitating to update my ATV3 with everything working on the 5.0x SW. Would love to hear when things seem fixed with this update.

Thanks again as we'll as thanks to all the other users here sharing their experiments as unofficial and unwitting (and unwilling) beta testers for Apple. :-(

Thanks for the follow up. Seems to be working fine for me with ethernet now with the latest update. Previously, I could not get any downloads to work over ethernet or access itunes or even do a network test. Always would hang and say can't access server. Yet, movie previews would work. After removing ethernet cable and switching on the wi-fi antenna on my router everything was fine. So, this was a classic instance of the problem -- working on wi-fi, but not when ethernet cable connected. My ethernet LAN was working fine otherwise, internet connection etc.

Like I said. Ethernet all working fine again now with the latest ATV update. I'm basing that on just one movie download, as I don't access MLB.

For the record, I use a DGN3500 weith firmware version 1.1.00.28_1.00.28

    cheers,

    Gavin
