I have the opposite problem. On my iPhone, it always starts playing the next episode at the completion of one. I'd like to turn that off.
In general, I can find very few controls on how Podcasts behaves.

Auto-play is working now. I don't know why or what I did to fix it. Perhaps it was another ping to a page on apple's servers that was deleted, like the wifi connectivity issue on Wednesday (iOS6 launch day).
If the problem pops up again ill report in.

The latest update to the app (v1.1.1) has fixed the auto-play issue which they are addressing as "stops playing when leaving app."

Anyone has a solution for this ?
I like to listen to podcasts in my car. But my favorite podcasts last 4-6 minutes and the iPhone is in the glovebox
Needless to say I had to stop listening to podcasts since the podcast App took over the music app.

"Solution" found: trash the Podcast App !
Then the "podcast" menu reappears in the Music App. Now I can again listen listen to my podcasts the old way.
