Brand new Christmas gift iPod Touch 5th Generation will not indicate power charging using cable included in package. Plugging USB cable in to either of two Win7 pc's results in NO usb indicator - power or otherwise (iTunes).

Attempts to work using MacBook Air result in something entirely different;

"Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled."  No error code(s) or anything.

iTunes is up to date and and systems updates are current on MacBook Air.

I suspect brand new cable is DOA but wondered if anyone else has run across this...any help is appreciated.

Regards,

Eric
