TS1412 When I plug my BRAND new iPod shuffle in, it says that their is an error and that it may not work properly. I have just added music to it? What's going on?

When I plug my BRAND new iPod shuffle into my computer, it says that their was an error and that my device may be corrupted. I just added songs to it and have used it once. What's the deal???
