To Whom It May Concern,

The iMovie '11 for OSX 10.8  is a nightmare to use. It's hard on the eyes

and is difficult to use. Please make the new iMovie look like iMovie 6 HD

and simplify it more for ease of use.

Sincerely,

Chuck Swaim

    Hi

    A. this is a User trying to help other Users forum - Apple very rarely are here (reading or answering)

Please use Apple feedback function :  www.apple.com/feedback/imovie.html

    B. Yes I dislike it too - but got some comfort in

David Pogue's book • iMovie’11 & iDVD The Missing Manual

But as I want a DVD as result and iMovie'08 to 11 can not deliver the picture quality I need.

So I mainly use - FinalCut Pro 6.0.6 - as to me FinalCut Pro X - makes the same logical blunder as iMovie'08 to 11

    Yours Bengt W

    it isn't.

and we had that discussion 5 (five!) years ago, when Apple switched from iMovie-a to iMovie-b.

if you prefer using iMHD6 - you obviously own it - install it! it is still running under MacOS10.08

and: its bigger 'pro' brother, FCPX, uses the same UI and paradigms - no chance rowing back.

    option B:

consider other editors, if you think, single-track editing is 'better'.

Karsten, thanks for your response. It's just the controls in iMovie '11 are all over the place and it doesn't have a clean look like the iMovie 6 HD. I just have to study up on it better. Luckily a friend got me the iMovie 6 HD so I can slowly wean myself off of it.

    All The Best,

    iMovie-b (=08, 09, 11) shares only its name with iMovie-a (≤ v.6).

A from ground new app - new features, new controls, new … everything

On iM08, I was one of the loudest 'nay sayers'!

Meanwhile, iM11 is a superb consumer tool.

(although I'm not using it any more, switched to FCPX).

    Don't miss Tutorials and Manual:

    http://help.apple.com/imovie/index.html#button-0

for .dv iMHD6 is still unsurpassed.

but for modern standards (AVCHD) mainly useless.

a few things are s still missing, esp. add-ons, plug-ins, 3rd party themes & templates support.

    make an Enhancement Request:

fingers crossed for iM13 + tons of stuff in AppStore
