Without more information alkl I can suggest:

Does the iPod connect to other networks?

Does the iPod see the network?

    Any error messages?

    Do other devices now connect?

    Did the iPod connect before?

    Try:

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

    - Power off and then back on the router

    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

    - Restore from backup. See:

    iOS: How to back up

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Just to elaborate I am also having this issue.  At home it works fine.  No issues on my D*Link router.  That I can tell.  (Since my internet is so fast its hard to qualify this)

Where it is most noticible is when I use my mobile phone as a mobile hotspot.  iOS 6.0.1 seemed to fix this issue when I had the iPad v2 and iPod touch 5th generation.  Over the holidays I upgraded from an iPad v2 to an iPad 4th generation.  When I added this combination of iPod 5th generation and iPad 4th generation to the Samsung Blaze 4g using t-mobiles wifi app everything changed.

They devices just fine but depending on where I am (close to home and in the office is fine but the commute to the office is horrid)  it's like there is a dropped signal or intermittent signal issue.  Just for fun I hooked up my older iPod 4th generation and iPad 2 and I had zero issues so it is hard for me to blame the hotspot.  (I have since sold them so they are no longer available to test)

NOTE:  I used the standard Speedtest.net app from the app and play store.

ON THE PHONE ITSELF:  The phone itself gets speedtests of up to 15MBps-16MBps download and 3MBps-5MBps upload.  Blazing fast.  I live in Chicago and as soon as I get on the bus, this goes down a tad, usually down to 1/3 to 2/3 of that when I am heading into downtown.  In the office it's down to 3/4 of the speed which is still find because it's about 3MBps-6MBps down and 1MBps - 2 MBps up.

ON THE DEVICES:  When I am walking on my way home, I can get similar speed tests as the phone.  About 90% slower but that's nothing to cry home about.  If I am on the bus, where the phone gets 1/3-2/3 data speed, either of the devices or both simply start the test and fail halfway during the ping test.  It doesn't even make it to the DL or UL part of the test.  When I am sitting at my desk in the office the speed tests get about 75% of the same speed as my device itself does.  (usable and understandable since its bridging the wifi)

My biggest concern is when I am actually on the bus and commuting.  That is when I need this function the most.  Mornings seem to be worse than evenings which I cannot explain.  It's on Lake Shore Drive which is right next to a lake.  Am I picking up some stray signal somewhere that is killing my wifi hotspot to the devices?  It's hard to say since there is a giant lake to the east and Lincoln Park (The park not the neighborhood) to the west.  In theory there should not be much of anything reaching me (I assume)

I have tried everything.  Switching channels, changing from WPA2 to WPA, setting channels to auto.   Nothing seems to work.  My phone doesn't have WEP so I can't change to WEP.  The only other option is open/unencrypted which scares me.  Is this a bug that Apple is trying to fix?  Is anyone else having similar issues?
