That can't be right because I only got mine on Sunday (23rd Dec 2012) and my battery life is awful on iPhone 5 compared to iPhone 4! It will be very low after a day and 23% ish when I go to sleep.  If I don't charge overnight it will die whilst at work! I know charging when it's not dead will kill the battery in the long run!

In most cases, you should be able to equal or better battery life on your iPhone 5. I have been able to on mine anyway.

There are a few things you can do to ensure good battery life on your iPhone 5. Follow the tips for improving battery life here.

If that doesn't do it, you can do a full dfu restore and backup as described here.

Let me know if that helps!

After full charge, i got the above result with my iphone 5.

the 7 hr of usage includes couple of phone calls, texting, whatsapp, facebook app, some surfing, and video playback for around 90min.

Now, I wonder if the result i got is normal or what to expect off my iphone as this is my first iphone.

    HElp me..

    Reply awaited.

It almost looks like there is something running in the background using up your battery.

Normally, the iPhone would only report 7 hrs. of usage if it has actually been used for that time.

It could be location services, notifications, or system services, for example.

Try downloading Carat... It might take a few days to give you results but it might be able to tell you what apps or services are affecting your battery life. With the help of Google, you might be able to solve the problem.

Well bro! 3G Internet decrease so much better even if you are not using the iPhone. So what you can do turn off the 3G when you don't want it, and decrease the brightness to 0 watch the little trick

Let me tell you why? Because from 3G Internet decrease your battery so much. My iphone loses 1 percent every 3 hours, and my iPhone can stand by up to four days without charging it.

    All you do is

    Turn off brightness

Turn off notification apps that you don't use

Turn off the 3g Internet when you dont use it

    Turn wifi off, and Bluetooth

Close all the apps in multitasking

And make your iphone finish completely until it dies

    Charge it to hundred percent

Then don't touch it for at least 4 or 6 hours, and watch the difference.
