I just puchases Snow Leopard in order to upgrade to Lion. I had purchased Lion for my Imac desktop from the Apple Store. I have read items on how to redownload from the apple store with no success. I have seen where you go to purchases and hold down the option key and click purchases and it should show Lion. It did not work. Any other ideas?

Firstly, your profile is out of date.  It would help if you would update it.

How did you purchase Lion (By USB Flash drive).   Until you have Snow Leopard installed you cannot upgrade to Lion.

If you have now installed Snow Leopard then you may have accidentally hidden it.   If so, sign in to your account and half way down the page click on view hidden purchases > then click on Lion, and it should reappear in your purchase list.

    Hello Emanuel

Looks like you've accidentally marked my post as solved when we are not yet there.   Unfortunately there's not much we can do about that now but I will keep trying.

Sign into your account.  Apple logo >  App Store > Store > View my account.   This is a screen shot of the part of the screen that will enable you to check if Lion has been installed.   It is also the page where you can edit your account details.

You could also check through Spotlight.   Magnifying glass top right hand.   Type in Lion and look for top hit.

Okay; so let us review where you are and what now needs to be done.   This may become protracted because I have become increasingly unwell during the course of this thread and while somewhat better this morning, still not 100%.

Looking back at you initial post ... you have downloaded Snow Leopard (without which you could not download Lion anyway).   You say you are now running with

10.7.5 ... which means you DO have Lion.   Doudble check by going to Apple menu > about this Mac > and check the version numbers under Mac OS X.

So the last remaining question would appear to be 'Why is your purchase list not showing Lion as a purchase?'

I understand the Lion app for some reason best known to Apple, self deletes once it is installed.   For that reason, and as you will know you have it via the 'about this Mac' report, I am pondering the necessity to 'prove it', so to speak.

I am curious as to why you seem unable to raise the hidden apps section so I'll send you a link later.

The 'someone" who sent you a screen shot was me.   The reason that Lion does not show up is, as I wrote, because it self deletes on completion of the download.

To see hidden purchases you need to sign in to your account ... Apple Logo > App store > menu bar 'Store' > View my account.

The page that comes up will be Account Information.   There are 3 sub sections.

Apple ID summary, iTunes in the cloud and settings.   To the right of iTunes in the cloud is a reference to view Hidden purchases.  Click on that, and if you have any they will show.

If these details are still not clear enough you could as a last resort contact ...

    iTunes support.

or   -  There are a variety of solutions to problems on the left hand side of the page.

All I can assume then is that there are no hidden apps.   This is the official Apple guide to hiding or finding hidden apps and the article I said I would send you.

iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases

Perhaps someone else will read of your problem and offer an alternative view.
