Is Pages compatable with Word?  All my documents are on Word. If I purchase Pages, will I be able to open my documents on Word?

Please advise soonest!!

Pages can open and export Word documents, but its native file format isn't readable by Word.

If you want to transfer Pages documents back to Word, use the Share menu in Pages to export as PDF. Your original Pages doc remains unchanged.

    Oops,

Not PDF, I meant RTF (or Word) as export format.

Be aware that several features of either of these applications (Pages/MS Word) are not supported or supported differently in the other, and may be translated badly or not at all. If you are working in an environment where the documents are edited at both ends, you may need the greater compatibility offered by using MS Word (Mac) on the Macintosh end.
