Dec 29, 2012 2:23 AM in response to tobifsby gazrose,My issue is pretty much the same as mentioned. Do Apple ever reply to these posts?
In the same room as the wireless AP, the phone is fine. However, moving to another room I am getting little or zero signal, sometimes get the error 'unable to join.....'
This issue has happened overnight...i.e. one day it was fine and then all of a sudden, problems. I've upgraded to 6.0.2 as that's what was suggested to me....however, same issue.
My wife's iPhone 4s is fine. As is my MAC Pro and her MAC Air. Just the iPhone 5.
The Apple flagship store in London UK tried to tell me that it was my ISP and totally ignored my argument that all other devices were fine. He even told me that 350kbps was fast!!!!!! I usually get 35000kbps i replied (vdsl).
Apple, please respond, help us find a solution to this!

Dec 29, 2012 6:10 AM in response to gazroseby decsramble,This issue has gone on so long with so many returns and complaints that the only conclusion is faulty hardware. Apple can only fix this with an iPhone 5S. Unfortunately for the millions of us with the faulty iPhone 5 we are out of luck.

Dec 29, 2012 6:15 AM in response to decsrambleby decsramble,I see Apple do read these posts, they are now editing complaints on this forum. Perhaps they can come up with a statement on the wifi issues instead of trimming out non offensive parts of discussions when they don't agree with the post?

Dec 29, 2012 7:23 AM in response to tobifsby cocktail5555,I was having issues staying connected to WIFI when i shut off the phone(standby). I just noticed something weird but helped my wifi drops when in standby.
This may not be 100% just yet, I am still doing tests.
When LTE is OFF, wifi will drop its signal when in standby. So even when you think you're connected to wifi, you are really using cellular data when in standby.
If you turn LTE on, wifi will stay connected when in standby.
Do some tests and see what you come up with. I'd like to know if it helps any of you.

Dec 29, 2012 1:03 PM in response to Mr. Squiresby Maufrigneuse,Absolutely agree, should a bright lawer start a class action to have Apple wake up? Are they going to pay for all the extra data used on my 3G (and on yours) because the wifi /network is not working? And the battery going down too fast, and the phone that's so hot, will that impair the life of the device?

Dec 29, 2012 8:20 PM in response to tobifsby SERRAS,I have the same problems HI FI
I have very strange problems as reported, my Iphone 4 and Ipad Mini with version 6.0.2 work well ... only the Iphone 5 with Version 6.0.2 has this problem, I've done everything, I installed it again ... and everything is in it. I used different router's etc etc, the problem keeps ...
Apple seriously needs to come clean and say what is happening, we are paying for a great brand ... and we are not being met ...

Dec 30, 2012 7:54 AM in response to tobifsby eyeandi,I restored as a new phone per Apple Support instructions. No wifi improvement!! Apple says the next step is a trip to the Apple store for a replacement phone. I have doubts that this will help the situation. Has getting a new phone helped anybody here? Is this really a hardware issue?

Dec 30, 2012 8:34 AM in response to eyeandiby besco,I replaced my first ip5 with a new one at the Apple store a few days before xmas and the wifi is much better. I was told that a new ip5 probably wouldn't be better due to it being a software issue but the wifi works in places of my house where the 1st ip5 didn't. But the wifi on the new ip5 should work better than it is right now.

Dec 30, 2012 8:36 AM in response to tobifsby John Capra,Has anyone who has received a replacement phone which fixed the wifi issue had it reoccur at a later time? I'm going to the Genius Bar today to possibly get it replaced but if people continue to have issues after replacements I won't bother.

I had my first one replaced, and the replacement has never had the problem, and the 6.0.2 update only made it faster. I have heard of others who did not have the same experience, though.

Dec 30, 2012 9:12 AM in response to tobifsby Oliduty,Same problem over here (belgium)
My iphone 5 worked perfectly. I had about 5 wifi routers it was connected to. At home, my parents, at work etc...
Worked like a charm. Super fast.
That for about 3 weeks or so...
Few days ago, got the 6.0.2 update...wifi did not work anymore, unless i stood next to the wifi router.
Allso the battery is draining fast, without touching the phone!
Tried everything, hard reset etc etc...did nothing.
It is definetly Not a hardware issue, but a software issue. They just have to fix it!
If it worked before, they can make it work again!
People dont have to lose time altering their wifi routers etc et ...those are not the problem.
Its just not fair when you pay astronomical amounts for products that are supposed to be the best, and after all seem to be worse...
