do you see the plus sign in the top right corner of the calendar app? if not, try to do a 'blank sync' with your computer where you have all your sync settings unchecked (so no information goes between your computer and your iphone) and it should push that back on there

that's good that you do. I definitely understand that you need the calendar button, but usually they go together, that's why I said what I said. If you don't have the calendar button, it usually means you only have one account on your device. Try doing what I said anyway, it will not cause you to lose or gain any data, but it might just bring back the calendar button

Thanks for your help. I did the sync anyway, and some other stuff....but whatever, it worked, so now I see all the calendars from my iCloud account. Just not worth the trouble to upgrade to a new OS. Thanks again for your help!
