I just tried what it said in your link and still no good im afraid. i couldnt find the imovie plist to delete. I dont seem to have one! I found an ilife09 plist and the apple.com iapp plist (which i deleted as per instruction).
Any other ideas? why is the imovie plist missing on my computer? strange. Anyway... thanks for the reply.
The main thing to check is that you are looking in the Macintosh HD/<Your User Name>/Library/Preferences folder.
If you are looking in the Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences folder you will not find it.
Other than that, I don't know.

Hi mate, I cant seem to find >library from my user name. There doesnt seem to be a folder at all ?! Do i have to key something in to make it appear? The only Library option i have is in the same column as "user". Im going >mackintosh HD>user>my name(with the house icon)>then... no library option!
I have a feeling this could cure it as I've tried pretty much everything else.
You have to start in the Finder. Hold down the Option key while using the Go menu. Choose Go to Library from the menu. You can look at the path at the bottom of the Finder window to see if you are in the right Library folder. If not, then navigate to the right library within that finder window.

It worked.. eventually... Thanks a mil ! trash didnt seem to want to delete the files though so is this something I will have to do everytime i want to use imovie? not a great hassle if it is and I can also use a different account if it plays up again but it seems like this is a common problem. Hopefully they'll do a bug fix soon.
thanks for help.
