When trying to open March 2013 on iCal the app crashes and closes down. It works fine on my iPhone and I have made diary entries for March but when I try to open it on my iPad it crashes. I have tried accessing March in various different ways, but no joy.

Any suggestions?

iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 6

    I get same Issue.

    is iCloud make this issue.

Try Disable iCloud calender on you iPad and then go to March 2013 on you calender and then it not crash. after that go back and enable iCloud calender again.

And then it work for me :-)

    best regards

I have the same problem. I tried turning of calendars in iCloud but it did not change the problem.

I use only mac for syncing. It's is a big problem Apple, please get it sorted.

Apple are not here, only fellow users.

Try removing any all-day events from the calendar for the 1st April 2013 e.g. if you syncing the calendar from iCal/Calendar on your Mac then change it to a timed event instead of all-day (if you don't sync your calendar from anywhere then try going into list view, go to 1st April and change any 'all day' events to times e.g. change Easter Monday to start at something like 4am) - it seems that there is a problem with all day events on that date which is when the clocks change due to daylight saving.

Hi, I removed all events from 31 March and 1 April and it still crashed. Do you not think Apple are reading these forums???

There are too many forums/threads/messages for them to read. If you go into the list view in the app there are no all-day events on 1st April, including any that span a number of days e.g. if you haven't got an event that covers the whole of the Easter weekend ?

    Yes. It works. Thanks

Yes I am another user with this prob.  Latest iPad.  I can confirm that it's April fool, any all day event non that date crashes it. I have had to unsubscribe to my UK holidays and DE Holidays as there are all day events on 1/4.

Ridiculous, can you imagine how may less tenacious people there are that cannot use March??????

It's a glitch that has to do with April 1 being the start of daylight savings time, and the iPad calendar app struggling to reconcile 'all day events' on a day whose length varies. If you're in the US, most of the country will have a 23 hour say, but not Arizona for example, whose day is 24 hours since they don't acknowledge daylight savings time.

And then there are other countries that eitehr ignore daylight savings time, or who start theirs at different weekends....and when that hour precisely vanishes.....

computers are stupid. The calendar can't reconcile that an hour simply goes missing so it responds by crashing the month (largely because it probably can't figure out exactly when March ends.

The bug is due to events in the date April 1st.  If you delete ALL events in April 1st, the calendar will then open for March.  This is documented elsewhere on the net - not my find, but I can confirm it does work.

Yep, it works!! Delete April 1st. All day events and then March does not crash..........how wired?

And what if I do not want to ignore April 1st?????

Then you won't be able to use the calendar for March until Apple fixes the bug in a forthcoming iOS update.

Disabling the UK calendar works but it's a stupid problem and a clumsy solution. Hope Apple sorts it out or I might miss Easter!
