Are you using iMovie??  If so, what version of iMovie are you using?  Is your audio cip embeded into the video, or is it an extra sound track you added?

Imovie11 the latest version, i imported video files with their own sound & i need to delete some parts of the audio in those files im using in my project. All i find is to highlight a section of audio & turn the volume down. Would be nice to highlight what you dont need & delete in the audio track.

This is quite simple once you know how.

First, let me show you how it was done in iMovie 08 and 09 (and it still works.)

    http://www.apple.com/findouthow/movies/imovie08.html#audioclips

Then watch the new features of iMovie 11, which makes it a bit easier.

Click on the movie called "All new audio editing"

    http://www.apple.com/ilife/video-showcase/

If you have a specific need that is not covered, let me know and I can walk you through it.

In your question in the post above, one way to accomplish that is to select the portion of your clip that you want to delete audio, then right-click/split clip. Then either set volume to zero or right-click/detach audio and delete the audio track. (This is the same thing as turning volume to zero). Or you can use the iMovie 11 version of selecting a range and adjusting the volume.

Thank you very much AppleMan, you got me on the right track with detaching the audio. Then you send IT to clip trimmer and edit the length of the audio and save, then move it where you like in the project. You can also copy and layer your audio to create nice fades and blends into the next track. I appreciate the info, thats what I needed to get me goin again, Thx
