Your post doesn't make much sense. Are you currently running Windows XP in Boot Camp or did you use some virtualization software such as Paralllels or Fusion? You need to be much more articulate and explain, remember we aren't there to see what you're doing and we cannot read minds.

Sorry for lack of clarity. I can't boot up with either Parallels 8 (vitrual) or with boot camp direct. After the welcoming XP image, the dreaded blue sceen with the error code ' c0000 221" and message "bad image checksum", "iertutil.dll possibly corrupt". Freezes there. That's why I think, just reload XP, but I 'm not clear on the easy stepes to do it.

Well your problem is a MS Windows related problem, something not really addressed on this forum. My advice would be to reinstall Windows just as you would any MS Windows box. If this isn't detailed enough then I'd repost on a Parallel's forum, the Boot Camp forum or a Windows XP forum.
