I started with a PC to get my mail from my POP mail account. I then got an ipad and got it all working so that all the mail downloads to both the PC and ipad. I now have an imac which we will slowly transfer over to. The problem has now appeared that all the mail is downloaded to the PC, but it goes to either the imac or ipad, but not both.

I have altered the settings so that the mail is "not deleted" on the server by any of the machines.

It is almost as if both the imac and ipad are giving the same "ID" so that whichever downloads the mail first it is stopping the other from downloading it when it logs on(ie the server has been told the "apple" has downloaded the mail so when the second "apple" logs on it appears as if there is no mail to download

Are there any settings i need to check to get all the mail to download to all 3 machines.

Can't you just switch over to IMAP to avoid this situation entirely? POP3 is really not designed for access by multiple devices whereas IMAP is.

Very few modern email providers don't support IMAP these days with so many people needing to access mail from multiple devices/computers. Often, switching over is as simple as changing the mail server address.

I wish very few providers were supporting. Yahoo and everything cable (Comcast/roadrunner/time Warner) still pop.

That is millions. And instead of creating gmail or hotmail account, that also can be set up as exchange, they flock from one ISP to other in the process of that loosing priceless emails and whole accounts. Getting back to original question, there is nothing that I know, that would make email server to read Mac and ipad as same device. Nor does that would matter, since it still suppose to download and keep for a week(that you set up as keep on the server).

You are wrong, it should be remove copy from the server ticked, but then set it for 7 days, it needs to be removed, But 7 days will allow enough time to sync to all devices, unless one of them is off for longer then a week. In that case you can go higher then 7 days.
