How to export photos from Aperture 3 to Photoshop elements 11

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.3)

File -> Export to the Finder and then take it from there.

Or do you just want to edit photos in Aperture using Elements? Then set it as an External Editor.

Do you want to edit your aperture images in Photoshop Elements? Then set Photoshop Elements up as external editor in the Aperture Preferences:

Open the "Export" tab of the Preferences panel, and set the option "External Editor" to "Photoshop Elements '11"; also select, if you want to use tiff or psd files as external editor format, and if 8bit is sufficient, or if you want 16 bit files.

To edit in PSE, select an image in the Browser, ctrl-click it, and from the Pop-up select "Edit with Photoshop elements"

When you want to save the edited image back to Aperture, use the "Save" option, not "save as".

    Regards

high lighted, however Photoshop Elements only appeared on a grey background , does this signify anything ?

All applications appear on a grey background in that field.

CAn you open an image in PSE, when you select one of the 8-bit file formats?

Long shot: I know the below is for Elements 9 and iPhoto but the same thing applies to 11 and Aperture. It's very esy to set the wrong thing as Elements in he preferences...

You have to select the Photoshop Elements Editor, not the alias.

It is in the next directory. I think it was named Contend Ort something like that.

Any help here.  The selected photo is passed to PSE 11 Editor. I make my changes and Save, but the changes do not apear in Aperture. I specified PSD 16 bit.  Am I missing a setting?

More info:  Sometimes the save option disappears and the photo size continues to grow as I try edit multiple times.

Please ignore.  It turns out that Quick Edit fails.  Guided and Expert changes do saved and are reflected in Aperture.  Only took 8 hours to solved.

I used only 4 hrs...before I reached same conclusion...and then stumbled over this post. What is the bloody point of not being able to use the Quick Edit part of PSE11 when you use it as external editor to Aperture? Is there a way around this?

I suggest you ask Adobe, this does not seem to be an Aperture problem. And I would suspect that the Aperture equivalent to the "Quick fix" should be sufficient.
