I'd like to have my birthday on the 1st of April as it has been every year of my life so far!
p.s. setting it to last only an hour didn't work for me...

@Bru and @ Rene
expect an update for iCal.
In this thread are temperary solutions offered.
I just put in an entry on the first of April time 00:30, and an all day entry also, no problems at all. iPad2.

This is not just about Peter's birthday... you have been aware of this problem since April last year. It is an important issue. We need action, fast.

This is not Apple, just users here. As far as I know this is not know since more than a week or two.

Fully aware we are not talking to Apple directly, just following on with Peter's joke. You gotta laugh.
The issue was first raised in this very same conversation on April 12. Go to page 1 of this thread and check for yourself.

This issue has been known ever since the New iPAD 3 came out and the reason of date 1st April.
I reported it to Apple then and despite assurances it would be fixed, still remains an issue. Not holding out for a fix any time soon.

I can't delete either all-day event in April 1st. they are from a subsribed calendar.
As I've said, I'm quite happy with the free CalenMob app.
It's a poor show from Apple, though, that such a universal problem on one of their own apps doesn't work properly.

Thanks to Charles Arthur at the Guardian Newspaper (UK) for highlighting this issue today:
If link doesn't work - look up his Technology Blog 'Boot Up'.
Suggest that you contact media - as even Apple may take notice of them.

Called yetserday the German support hotline - the Girl at the end of the line was not aware of the problem .
Her recommendation was to reset the iPad and configure is as a new iPad. As I'm a nice guy I give it a try - expecting that this will not solve the isssue... but OK.
As long as there was no all day entry on April 1st month view worked fine. After entering an all day appointment on April 1st the problem was there again - q.e.d.
Today I called again the support hotline and the girl was a little bit more knowledgeable and gave me the tip which is already discussed here in the forum - change all day events on April 1st to timed events....
Well, as April 1st is Easter Monday my company has this as an all day event in our company holiday calender and so I'm not able to change it - after the next sync there is again the all day event and the calender crashes.
The girl tried to calm me down with the information that Apple technicians working on this bug....but hey they working on it since months ... I assume that they will not fix it as March will be over in 12 weeks and according to the girl from the hotline many users are happy with the workaround
So - if you call the hotline with this porblem please save your time and do not reset your iPad. This will not solve the issue - change all day events to timed events, use an other calendar app or buy a Samsung tablet runing with Android....

Just discovered I have this problem, can not change all day events on the 1st April as 3 of them are subscribed calendars which I need and the 4th is my wedding anniversary (why should I have to change them, and what about all the people born on the 1st of April) simply deleting/changing these events is not a fix for lots of us. Maybe since apple don't seem to care about our March maybe we should boycott them for that month unless they solve the problem. They have been going downhill in my opinion since apple maps anyway.

I subscribe to a calendar of Jewish festivals and sabbath times which rolls on year after year. Festivals are all day events and so I cannot delete or change to a timed event a festival that occurs on April 1st. I would have to not use this calendar for several months to enable myself to use march without it crashing

You can view it in week view if you don't want to/can't change events on 1st April, which is what I'm doing (but I'm not happy about it) at the moment there is no real fix, hopefully as march descends upon us more people will start to notice and apple will be forced to fix it. Maybe the Mayans got their calander slightly wrong and the world is goin to end in march this year instead. AKB (apple know best!)

Yup, the problem is alive and well (or not well) on iPad 3 as well. The work-around approach taken by Apple (delete all-day entries on April 1st and you'll be fine) sounds to me like a lame April Fools' Day joke. Especially since this problem has been around for months. Apple is obviously sitting this one out (after all, March will be long gone in a few weeks). But what does that say about programming ethics at the company? Better late than never, guys. Admit the problem and get it fixed! You're driving customers away!! Remember the mobile connection problem on the "new" iPad which Apple also denied for weeks and weeks and still hasn't been fixed in all parts of the world? It's giving the other tablets a good boost.

To make things worse...
The workaround is not fixing the crash at my 'new' iPad.
It still crashes even when I delete every entry on the 1. of march.
Feels like not only Steve died but the genius in Apple itself.

I feel the same...
However, the date is 1st April: you should delete all day events on 1st April. Hope it works....
