I posted this first in the iBooks Author forum. I am not sure if my issue is created and fixable there or here in the iBooks forum or perhaps in iTunes. All help is appreciated. - F
HappyNewYearEveryone. It's January 2nd and I've painted myself into my first corner this year.
I created a new book and checked it many times with Preview. The preview appears (as you know) as a Proof copy on my iPad. So far so good.
I then create an Export version from iBooksAuthor to my desktop. I drag this new file with the ".ibooks" extension into the Books section of my iTunes Library. There are no additional files in there. My new files appears properly in iTunes with its cover.
The next step is transferring it to my iPad via syncing. I follow these steps: 1- The iPad is connected to my desktop computer via a cable. 2- Open iPad and select Settings. 3- In Settings select General and iTunes Wi-Fi Sync. 4- Tap "Sync Now" button. The new ibooks file transfers to the iPad. I check this in iBooks on my iPad. The new file without a "Proof" banner appears on the shelf. Good so far.
I tap the new file's icon to open it in iBooks. It opens as expected, and then displays the following message:
Tapping OK is the only option. Sure enough, I cannot add notes. I cannot get past this message either.
Nothing I do (which really amounts to deleting this book and trying to transfer/sync again) tells the iPad this IS the new version or allows me to add notes.
Any insight as to what I'm missing is greatly appreciated.
