    Hello Frank,

From time to time a post can become heavily subscribed to and while someone may have initially contributed, they could have lost interest.   Is there a way to retain the general notify situation yet remove that specific set of notifications.

Apologies to Bertie3174 for the slight deviation.

If you remember the thread (or can find it from the email) you should be able to unsubscribe from just that thread by deselecting the Receive Email Notifications in the  Actions box at the top right hand side of the thread

There are at least 4 levels of notification here.

    1) You can be notified for every post added to a thread you create.

    2) You can be notified for every thread you participant in (added a post to)

    3) You can be notified for all posts to a specific thread (even if you didn't post to that thread)

    4) You can be notified for all posts to a specific community (this is the killer, easily hundreds of emails per day depending on the community.)

I think that covers them all.

One other gotcha is that some of those can be on a per item basis or automatic for all items in a class.

For example you could choose to receive notification for all posts you add content to (automatically) or you could do this on a post by post case when you create the post.

    Thank you very much, Frank.

I'll look into this tomorrow.   Very kind of you to take the trouble; greetings and good wishes for the coming year.

Thank you again Frank, you learn something every day.     But how I've gone so long without learning this, I don't know.
