Does holding Option or alt key when launching iPhoto help to choose the Library?
Not sure about TM, but...
Have you looked through Pondini's extensive TM help site?
Can't imaging something not being covered there.

oops... not used to the key-config.
I automatically come to the choice menu of iPhoto. It is not possible to chooose TM.
I can restore a (empty) map from TM however. Its seems therfore that is entirely due to iPhoto Library in the the .backupdb-file.
I never heared form Pondin before and certainly will investigate.

I'm now trying a Pondini suggestion.
QNAP is investigating as well as they donot know the cause either.

I'm happy to say that the Pondini suggestion #E9 option 2 (not option 1!) on TM worked out!
It is quite a cumbersome task compressing 106Gb and than unpacking it.
iPhoto had to correct inconsistencies but finally I had my 52K photo's back on screen.
Ofcourse it is a silly thing that restoring has to be perfomed in this way. What are back ups usefull for then?
I'll take this up with QNAP and let you know.
Apart from Pondini, I'm especially very gratefull to Linc and BDAqua!
