Q: Can I scan FROM my ipad

You can do but the result depends on the scanner type.

If you wish to get a scan of the screen image you need a scanner which can read backlighted items, like slides or film.  Not sure if you can get a good result but you can try.  Usual scanner for paper will not give you a readable result.

If you only want an image of the screen on your iPad, have you tried the "Screen Capture" feature?  Just press the home button and the sleep button at the same time and then release them.  You should get a sound like the camera shutter, and then you should have an image of the iPad screen on your camera roll.

Why not press the Power and Home buttons on the iPad and perform a screen capture? Then Share the resultant image from Photos gallery. Or, connect the iPad to your Mac with USB and run /Applications/Image Capture to pull the file into OS X from the iPad Photo gallery.

My answer was strictly related to your question to put the iPad on the scanner, but of course the best way to save a picture of the screen is the one suggested by both GeekBoy.from.Illinois and VikingOSX.
