If you wish to keep your macbook's internal drive clean and for the most part empty, Buy an external drive and keep all of your music and movies on there. You can even keep apps on your external drive as well, although this does degrade the performance of said apps. As far as defragmenting, no need to.. I never have, and probably never will. One thing about MAC OS X opposed to windows is that MAC is very good at taking care of itself, leaving the user to simply use the laptop. As with any laptop, never leave it plugged in FOREVER, as this drains the battery. Regularly run the battery to about 30% and charge it up full. Any more questions, post them here

There is no need of Windows like "Defrag" for a Mac. Mac OS X takes care of it.
Hard Drive Storage space: Keep 10-20% free.
Please do not install any anti-virus,keeper and cleaner softwares.
Install all System,Applications and Security updates released by Apple.
