Q: Scanner and new Mountain Lion

I have just updated to Mountain lion and although my printer works, the scanner doesn't " because power applications are no longer supported" says the message. Can anyone help a complete novice ?

    Thank you very much for replying to me......my Printer/scanner is the Epson Stylus DX6000 series.

     

    I do not know if I have done the right thing, but on the Apple support page I saw 'downloads' and I am in the process of downloading an up to date (I think/hope) driver direct from Apple.

     

    It takes several hours to complete the download.
