Consolidating an image (and selecting 'move to aperture') I was then able to edit it with the plug-in.

And if you make it referenced again - can you still edit it? Than that would be a work-around; consolidate the iPhoto images you want to use. And if you still can edit after relocating, relocate them using Aperture, to make them referenced again.

    Thanks LeonieDF

I'm still new to the understanding of consolidating and referencing.

At the moment though we have got the plugins working by consolidating the image.

As I said i only just purchased Aperture so I'm working my way through the manual.

At some point I'll find out why in the 'Photos' browser I get duplicates (sometimes 3) of my images, but in 'Project' browser you only see the single image.

You'd better start a new thread with that question. That will need a bit more discussion - off topic to this thread, and we like to keep the threads stick to one topic. This way it easier to search for answers in this forum

I have not had time to try your suggestion out.

I will do it this weekend and post my results.  Thanks for the help!
