Tried to import photos from SD card - had issues with Facebook sending errors and ended up having to force quit before the pictures from my SD card were imported.  Now event is created but there are no pics in it and I cannot delete the event folder to try and reimport the photos.  Any suggestions?

I will try - First of all, I was on vacation and in a remote area that had trouble getting wifi.  I had FB open in Safari, went to iphoto to start the import and while the photos were being imported I kept getting error messages from FB. (btw - I have never linked FB to my iphoto).  At this point I don't even remember what the errors said but I kept clicking OK to try and get rid of the message - (did not give me a cancel option).  At one point the message came up that I needed to log into FB - thinking this had somehow timed out in safari, I logged in not realizing I was giving FB access to my iphoto.  Then it tried to start syncing my albums from FB into iphoto along with the SD card and the computer froze up with the beach ball just spinning and spinning.  Only thing I could think of to do was force quit.  BTW - During this process, my photos on the SD card got erased.  Found a program to recover them from the SD card and got them back into iphoto.  Found where to unlink FB with my iphoto and did that.

New problem - Now I can't load any of the recovered photos onto my ipad or iphone.  Thought the empty folder was causing this problem so I was trying to get rid of it.

I did try Restarting computer while on vacation and it did not work, but I read in another post last night to try and drag the empty event to the iphoto trash and that worked.

So, going back to trying to get iphoto to recognize them as new photos, last night I resaved all the photos onto an SD card, deleted the events that were created and tried to reload the pics from the SD card - it would not load automatically because it said the photos were already there.  Could not find them in iphoto.  I reselected each photo and instructed it to import and overide the duplicate message.

They are now back in iphoto but I still can't load them onto any other device.  I have given up and plugged in my Time Capsule to back up so I don't lose them again.  Any suggestions to get them to load on my other devices or have I now corrupted my iphoto library?

    Appreciate your feedback! - G

How did you delete the photos? Did you empty the iPhoto trash (how many photos are in the iPhoto trash)?

Yes - I emptied the iphoto trash - (there were over 1,000 because I had never deleted the photos I had edited previously)

I also used a newly formated SD card to save the photos on when I resaved to the SD card.
