iCloud backup issues

I recently changed from the iphone 4 to 5, and when attempting to backup to iCloud, the phone said that the backup couldn't be compelted. I would normally have done this from my laptop, however at the time, I had no laptop. Since then, I got a laptop and tried backing up the iPhone 5. It will process the back up, and even appear to have completed, however it says "last backed up to iCloud: unknown" on the computer, and says incomplete when I check the iCloud file in settings on the phone.


So has this actually backed up and just showing a weird message, or is there a problem with the phone/iCloud?
