Do jam packs still exist?  I'm interested but can find no where to buy them on apple site!

GarageBand (iPad), Mac OS X (10.7.5)

not as standalone packages, but if you buy Apple's Mainstage through the Mac App Store for around $30 you get _all_ of the Jam packs as free downloads

Does Main Stage actually work with GarageBand or was it meant for LogicPro?

The applications do not work with each other - but they have compatible installation libraries. So all loops and instruments that are installed by Mainstage 2 are available in GarageBand.

So, how do you install the jam packs or software libraries that are compatible to use with GarageBand?  Does Main Stage have install instructions for GarageBand users - or does it assume you are using LogicPro?  I am interested in the Jam packs for use with GarageBand but no plans right now to upgrade to LogicPro or Logic Express.

How do you bring the Main Stage instruments, loops into GarageBand?  Maybe that is a better question.

I cannot answer for Logic, but since Mainstage wll install the loops and instruments exactly where GarageBand installs the loops and instruments, there will be nothing special to do in GarageBand - just run the MainStage installer (quit GarageBand before doing that) and when Mainstage has downloaded all content the loops should be available in GarageBand too.
