My fault. What I'm asking is how can I pause the screensaver to look at an image then resume the screensaver at that point in the sequence?

You have a slide show as a screensaver? Me too! Yes, that would be nice but the second you activate the mouse or keyboard the screensaver goes!

So the answer is no.
