Plug the TC into the computer by ethernet.
Hold down the reset until the front led flashes rapidly.. about 10sec.
Then redo the setup.. Any reconfiguration will often require a full reset especially on horrible v6 airport utility.
Please load v5 utility.. thusly.
How to load 5.6 into ML.
1. Download 5.6 for Lion.
Click to open the dmg but do not attempt to install the pkg.. it won't work anyway.
2. Download and install unpkg.
Run unpkg on the desktop.. it is very simple.. drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. drill down.. applications utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
You cannot uninstall 6.1 so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. so just ignore the toyland version.. the plastic hammer.. and start using 5.6.. a real tool.
For screen shots see this post.

This is probably a stupid suggestion, but did you already try rebooting your Time Capsule?
i.e. Pull out the Power Plug from the back of the Time Capsule, wait a couple minutes, plug it back it. Wait for the light to go from amber to green on the front of the Time Capsule. You may have to go back into Time Machine Preferences, reselect the Time Capsule as your backup disk, and reenter your Time Capsule password.

OK so i got everything working... TC connected...Apple backed up....now we're back to "looking for disk"....My head is going to implode....
welcome to Mountain Lion.. stability is not its thing really.. a most unstable cat.
Did you put the TC back into the network? How is it setup?
It will occasionally require a reboot.. that is the nature of the beastie.
Some settings can help especially if you use wireless.
SMB names.. short no spaces pure alphanumeric for everything.
Fix the wireless channels.
Set a short dhcp lease time.
