Jan 4, 2013 8:36 PM in response to DrNoirby ID locked,Try going to iTunes store support on the express lane website. Read the articles the search results gave you. Or email itunes store support by clicking the email option. You will have to fill out a form. Then, an automated email will be sent to your email. After that, there will be an email from the response team within 48 hours of that. It should work

Jan 4, 2013 8:37 PM in response to GrumpyGatorby ID locked,What is my serial number, what is my billing info?

Jan 4, 2013 8:41 PM in response to ID lockedby GrumpyGator,Serial number of an apple product registerd in your name, billing info associated with your account. If you can't verify at least that, then you can be anybody and calling support will be of little use. You'll be asked to verify your identity.

How do you check your serial number?

Jan 5, 2013 2:09 PM in response to ID lockedby jaw444,like others, my experience is, don't waste time with the Express Lane email, the only reason to do that, if at all, is to get the option where you can click on a link to get a phone call. If i remember right, your phone rings within a minute, or pretty soon.
The next hurdle is to get someone who is able to fix the problem . But if you are only missing security question answers, but you know the last 4 digits of the credit card you used, then they will probably reset it.
In my case, i set that apple id up so long ago, i don't have the card anymore, and i spoke to reps four or five times over a period of weeks and months only to be told there was nothing they could do, after they tried a lot of prescribed trouble shooting steps which took a lot of my time with no payoff.
It was frustrating and i finally stopped trying although i still needed to access the account because most of my apps were linked to it and couldn't update anything (the most expensive was Navigon Navigator, about $60, so i was not pleased with it becoming useless).
Finally after maybe a month and a half i tried again and the first rep got me right up to the next tier rather than putting me through all the same old trouble shooting steps, and the rep i got was clearly different from the others i talked to in his attitude. The others were nice and wanted to help, but apparently were limited by Apple policy which required certain information i didn't have in order to reset or re-enable the ID, it was a brick wall.
but the last guy i got was talking differently, like this was going to be solved, and it was a completely outside the box solution, it took about a half hour or less, and then the account was working again. (The problem turned out to be my creaky old email program, Eudora, which wasn't able to receive the reset password link in the email from reset your apple id dot com. no other rep thought of this, and i certainly didn't because other links in the email worked fine, just not the reset password link which looked fine but didn't respond to clicking, and i haven't had any other problems with Eudora not downloading other reset password links, including for other Apple IDs, so who would've thunk? but the guy had me access the link through another mail program and it worked. what a relief. i didn't need to provide any security question answers or credit card numbers or anything)

Jan 7, 2013 4:16 PM in response to DrNoirby geoneo75,I had to re-enter my 3 digit code from the back of the credit card.
Try this, it worked for me:
On your device:
go to “Settings”, “ITunes & app stores”, click on “AppleID”, click “View Apple ID”, click “Payment information”.
Make sure your card type is checked and your Card number is entered. Under Card Details, enter your card’s 3 digit security code (from back of card), enter Expiration month and year.
Click “DONE”, then “DONE” again. Then go to app store and try updates.

Settings > Store.
Tap your AppleID then View AppleID.
Then tap Payment Information.

There is no Settings > App store.

Jan 26, 2013 5:03 AM in response to DrNoirby tkapfer,Ok, everyone, I'm new to this community.
My appleid has been disabled and I cannot make purchases from iTunes.
I have read through these posts and have gone to expresslane and opened multiple tickets.
When I go check the status of my tickets, they have been CLOSED immediately after opening.
No callbacks, no emails, no nothing.
I have been trying to get these issues resolved for several weeks and hear NOTHING from Apple.
This is extremely poor customer support.
Please help.
