Find my ipod

i got a ipod and i got the ap "find my ipod" i set it up and it says you can open it on your macbook computer. i cant find it though. i go the system preferences and its not their like is says in the app. please help me.

    To access the location of your devices, you go to http://icloud.com, sign in, and click Find my iPhone. You use this website and not an application on the Mac. The application it refers to is for if you have an iOS device, an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, as that is how you would locate it if you had one of those devices.
