You're correct; you probably do need a new keyboard, however let the keyboard/computer dry out over a few more days. It's the same with R/C cars; if you get water in the motor, let it dry over a few days (Can be up to 2 weeks) and then it should be fine again.
If it was that small amount of liquid then it shouldn't have caused that much harm, just let it dry out some more, other than that you might need a new keyboard
