Learn about iMovie '08 or later: Cannot see or control camera

TS1059 I have just installed iMovies 11 (9.0.8) to replace my old imovies8, which automatically used my isight internal webcam. This version can't see it, and tells me "To import video, please connect a camera". The camera is connected and works on Skype.

Hi. I have just purchased a BT-1 bluetooth wireless webcam for mac. It works fine, but apparently not with my old version of imovies 8. However, my imovies 8 at least could link to the inbuilt isight webcam. So - I paid Apple to upgrade to imovies 11, and the new version just says I dont have a camera connected - even though I now have 2! Both cameras are recognised in Skype, and in Photobooth, so they are working properly. The isight is working in services/USB, I have already looked. I dont know what to try next. Please help, and thanks for reading this.
