Apple told me to remove the camera after it jiggled, the little no entry sign did not appear therefor I could not remove my camera app. The camera does not work to the rear, sometimes the front facing camera will but sporadically, can i replace this phone for a samsung galaxy......never use apple again their crud

First and foremost, "Apple told me to remove the camera after it jiggled"... why?   Why did apple tell you that?  What is wrong with your camera?  You know you cannot remove/delete any of the default apps (camera, calendar, maps, weather, etc).

Have you taken the iPhone in for service?  And if you want to replace your phone, contact your carrier.

there should appear on the icon a little red icon to remove the app from display, they then told me to tap the home button twice and replace the camera icon, this apparently will resolve my camera issues. Been onto the carrier, they want me to take the phone onto an apple store to have it exchanged, to tell you the truth, when you purchase an item because you believe it to be the best on the market and then the product does not function as it should, then I would rather get a Japanese replacement.......Apple never again

Just and FYI, the Samsung phone you mentioned is Korean.

Secondly, I still didn't understand what you said.  I believe you're trying to access the camera from the lock screen.

I am not entirely sure this is a hardware/software issue.

    Good luck though.

Tom, I followed your line and the icon dissappeared, then it's back but the camera is still not working. Remember guys you're talking to a techno-phobe.....useless I don't really care where the samsung is made, it works, simple the iphone is rubbish, if my carrier sends me to apple to have the phone replaced, without question then how long have apple known about this.

I just don't trust them now, glad as well, as I was about to buy the ipad, galaxy note 10.1 for me.

    Thanks for your help Tom

If your iPhone is under warranty, they should replace it....

Walk your device into the nearest Apple Store and make a query there to be sure there isn't something going on that is out of your control, etc.

    Good luck in any case.

Based on the OPs posts I NEVER would have guessed he was trying to use the multitasking switcher to close the camera app.  Perhaps I misread what they said.

To Bilbop412  I am sorry you feel that iphone is rubbish.  However, just because you don't understand something doesn't mean it is bad.  Everybody has different preferences and understandings of how things work. I know some people that I think are very technologically inclined that can't figure out iOS and I know people who are as you said you are "a techno-phobe" and get along great with iOS.

I agree with K T take it in, have it looked at.  Your carrier is saying go to Apple because Apple provides the BEST service for their own products.  If your device is less than a year old more likely than not it is under warranty.  You really should check into it.

    Good luck

There's a reference (generated by the forums I think) to the HT for that in the subject line, but sometimes the connection is not so close....

    Restarting the phone might work.

Hold power and home until apple logo appears. Then launch camera.

Or go to restrictions, turn camera off then turn it back again.
