I've just recently purchased an iPad 4; downloaded the iPhoto app; can't figure out how to transfer a photo from my camera roll to an established album within the app. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Which app are you trying to move the photo into - an album in which app?

You can create an album in the iPhoto app by adding a custom tag to it - the tag becomes the name of the album...  Next time you want to add a photo to that album, again select the tag icon (the one right next to the settings icon on the right at the bottom of the photo slider) while you're looking at the new photo to be added and the next screen will give you  the choice of adding it to one of the albums you already created or creating a new custom tag which will create another album....

I've been able to get to a point where I can choose the edit option, in my camera roll and it offers me the option of adding to an existing album, however it doesn't allow me to actually add the photo(s). It doesn't "highlight" any albums. They are all "shaded". Any suggestions?

I'm not sure I'm following you.... when you are looking at a photo in your camera roll, what icon are you tapping?

I'm in "photos"...(seeing all on screen). ... choosing "edit"...choosing photo or photos ( placing blue check marks on them)..." add to"... Choices are "existing" or "new" album...problem is, when I choose existing album, all are shaded...can't choose any...won't continue...

Are all your existing albums, albus which you synced to the device from other sources?

Yes. Apparently, when i initially downloaded the app, the albums mirrored what i had set up in my "photos".

Albums that have been synced to the Photos app from iTunes cannot be added to on the iPad photos app. Only albums that are created in the photos app can be rearranged and edited. Synced albums remain "as-is" when you sync them. You cannot add to or remove from those albums on the iPad.
