Q: Installing a new hard drive problem? Help
So ive been having problems with my mac book and I went to the apple store and the guy told me that my hard drive had failed and to buy another one. I bought a new one and installed it myself (I've replaced the fan before so I kinda know what to do) so I turned it on and a folder with a question mark kept flashing, so I look up what to do and I did what they said and I inserted the Mac OS installation cd and was able to begin the download process. I got to the part where I could choose where I wanted to download the software but there was no hard drive option. Then I was told to go to disk utilities to set up my new hard drive but when I go to do that there is no hard drive to select. I'm so confused on what to do? I just want to install my new hard drive and use my mac.
Thanks so much, Andrew

HDD = Hard Disk Drive. Not the Install CD. Check the installation. If you have an external HDD, connect that and see if that is shown in Disk Utility.
Sorry for the shorthand.
Ciao.
