Q: delete wrong apple ID from the appstore login

when I try to update my apps on the ipad the box that pops up has the wrong apple ID in it and I can not change it no matter what I do.  I have re set the info in the settings and when viewed there the info is correct.  When I get into the app store I still get the wrong ID no matter what I do... anyone have any suggestions

    SOLUTION

You need to reset both your ICloud Email account and Store Account.

    IPHONE

    ITunes Store

Goto Settings>Itunes & App Stores>Click your Itunes Login Name>Sign Out.

Sign in with new Apple ID.

    ICloud Exchange

    Goto Settings>ICloud>Delete Account.

Recreate the ICloud Account with your New ID.

I think the problem everyone assumes the login ID to get into the phone is the same as the Email login, and that is just not true.

When I changed the ICloud Exchange account, I was then prompted with my new Email Apple ID account.

    Hope this helps.

    Erik

This WORKED, people please try this method it does work!

This is/was very helpful. The simple step of signing out and then when we log back in, we can change the email address to our new email.

This worked for me...though how do you avoid re-purchasing all your apps?

Haha. Yeah. I tried that. Here is the problem. I just created a new email and I accidentally typed in something wrong so my apple ID was messed up. I'm awful with technology! Lol However, I changed the ID and password. The email that was wrong is in fact a real one owned by someone else. Do you think any private info was possibly leaked? Or is the problem cleared?

It keeps asking for my old ID which I changed and no matter what PW i use it says in correct. PS I can download new apps with my current/correct ID..please help

I think I have the same problem!

I have my Apple ID which is "jmnzangel@xxxx"  signed in on everything here on my ipad and then when I tried to download something in the App Store a different Apple ID is signed on. I have only one Apple ID that's why I was surprised to see someone else's signed on. Now I can't download anything without using my computer.

Did you guys get to fix yours?

Signing out from Settings->Store definitely does not solve the problem articulated here. Somewhere on the device, the old account is stored as the default for things like the AppStore app, even if a new account is set up, signed into, etc via Settings. It looks to me like signing out does not clean up a config on the device somewhere.

By the way, snarky comments about "Why would someone have created two accounts?" are not terribly helpful. There are a million reasons why folks would have different accounts. For me, it had to do with separation of work and home. Regardless, it's not on the point and fails to address the problem at hand.
