Q: Photo deleted from Photo stream, still data reflecting in icloud, iPhone 4

Earlier icloud was showing 3.2GB photos..

I've deleted many photos from photo stream(56 photos remaining) as well as from camera roll to 1.4GB(190 photos remaining), after deleting i've back up on iCloud to update the data.. but icloud is still showing the last size data i.e. 3.2GB

How to clear the unwanted data from icloud?

PS: I'm using iPhone 4 and firmware is 6.0.1

Thank you!

iPhone 4, iOS 6.0.1

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities

Photo Stream does not take space on iCloud, so it is not the problem. Probably, iCloud is referring to all the photos that are backed up with your iPhone backup. If you do not want to back up photos, open Settings > iCloud > Storage and Backup > Manage Storage, select your iPhone backup and turn off Camera Roll

Thank you for clearing me that icloud photo and photo stream are not same!!

But what if i want to manage photos on icloud manually? because if i'll turn off the camera roll, it will delete whole photo's back up on icloud.

Apple used to be user friendly once, this icloud has messed up if you are not famalier.

    I've another issue on icloud...

Contacts, i have more contacts on icloud than iphone

    1. if i try to add contact on iphone that is already existing on icloud there is no option to add same contact on iPhone.

    2. if i keep contacts only on iCloud, and if by chance i loose my iphone.. the one who finds it deletes all the data even my contacts on icloud, i'll left with nothing. (how to add contact on iphone at this situation?)

Please give some good tips to keep photos and contacts safe on icloud.. guiding how iphone pushes new contacts to icloud...

I usually take back up on my PC as well as on icloud to be on safe side, Later i find many duplicate contacts.

I'm sorry, but you can't manage the Camera Roll backup manually. Respecting to Contacts, I can't help you with that problem

If you try to sync your contacts both to your computer using iTunes as well as to iCloud you will get duplicates.  If you are syncing contacts with iCloud don't also sync with iTunes.

A backup option for your contacts is to use an app like My Contacts Backup, which will back up your contacts to a .vcf file that can later be used, if necessary, to re-import your contacts back to your device.  If your PC is also syncing your iCloud contacts using Outlook, you can also back up your Outlook contacts to a .pst file for safekeeping.
