I unwittingly received the update to itunes for my macbook air and I can't figure out how to add music or playlists to my iphone.  I'm completely dumbfounded.  Any help out there would be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Jeff

What ITunes has done is switched sides for the drag and drop process.......

The old way was to highlight a song and then drag it over to the left hand side of the screen and drop it into your device...... Well the rules still apply.

Locate the song that you want to add to your device

(remember that all of the songs are now listed to the left of the screen)

    Highlight the song

(by clicking on it one time)

Drag the song over to the right hand side of the screen

(notice how your connected device has reveled itself?)

Now release the song on top of the device that you want it to be copied into

    :::::::::::::::::::::::Or::::::::::::::::

    Locate the song

    Highlight the song

Click on the arrow directly behind the name of the song

    Scroll down to.... Add To

Click on the arrow directly behind the words Add To

Then Add the song to the connected device of your choice.

Holla back if you got it.............

Hi Jocelinn- I saw your suggestion and tried it...it does not work. When I drag it to the right, a black circle with a line appears (kind of like "no way, you can't do this") seriously, why would they make something that should be so basic and easy, so hard?

So sorry to hear that!  My recommendations only come by way of what works for me and I find it odd that it didn't work for you.

    Good Luck!

Jocelinn's suggestion also did not work for me. However, being computer savy or by pure luck I was able to figure out how to add music to my iPhone (it's an iPhone 5) from the new iTunes (newest version).

    [View image]

    • Under "view" in the menu bar at the top there should be "show sidebar" button. (Mine says "hide sidebar" because I have my set to be viewed).
      • Click. The sidebar will apear on the left hand side. It's going to look like the old iTunes.
    • Now you can highlight the songs you wish to add to your iPhone.
    • Once highlighted you can click and drag and drop them to your iPhone. Much like you did with the old iTunes.

*Note this will only work if you have your iPhone set to MANUALLY add videos and songs.

    I really hope this helps.
